

Spanish Presidency urged to seize opportunity to drive ambitious renovation strategy in Europe
Spain, as the current president of the Council of the European Union, holds the keys to make buildings fit for 2050.
21.09.2023Knauf Insulation has signed a contract to acquire a Glass Mineral Wool plant in Central Romania.
The acquisition of the plant will bring Knauf Insulation’s solutions closer to customers in the rapidly growing markets of Romania, Eastern Europe and CIS.
Dominique Bossan, CEO of Knauf Insulation Europe/Middle East/Asia, and Member of the Knauf Group Management Committee, stated: “The Romanian acquisition will support Knauf Insulation’s growth ambitions and add extra capacity to meet increasing demand for our solutions across the Eastern European and CIS regions.
“Knauf Insulation plans to invest in cutting-edge technologies and upgrade the Romanian plant, bringing the manufacturing processes to our high-quality standards. This will ensure the best possible solutions for our customers; this will also guarantee safe working conditions for our employees and highest environmental standards, in line with our commitment For A Better World.”

After closing of the transaction, the plant, based in Târnăveni, Mureș County, will be upgraded to Knauf Insulation’s manufacturing standards. Knauf Insulation produces innovative Glass Mineral Wool with ECOSE Technology® and composed of up to 80% recycled glass.
