Poland, June 13, 2018 — Knauf Insulation is proud to be a key sponsor of this year’s C4E Forum — a unique three-day event designed to pioneer innovative new approaches to energy saving policies in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE).

Opening today, the Forum in Serock, near Warsaw in Poland, brings together more than 200 representatives from national governments, businesses, NGOs and green building organisations with the aim of unlocking the potential of energy efficiency across the CEE region.

Mr Jean-Claude Carlin, CEO of the Knauf Insulation Group, said: “Knauf Insulation is delighted to sponsor the C4E Forum because it offers an exciting opportunity for everyone to share ideas and projects that could inspire real future change.

“Buildings consume 40% of Europe’s energy and emit 36% of emissions, so it is essential that we build on the success of policy developments and energy efficiency financing that we have seen across CEE countries in recent years.”

Ondrej Sramek, Knauf Insulation’s Public Affairs Director Eastern Europe — and a member of C4E’s Organising Committee — said the forum had become a showcase for regional energy-saving initiatives.

“The CEE is often criticised for not being enthusiastic about energy efficiency, but our first C4E in Bulgaria in 2016 demonstrated that the energy-saving community is exceptionally active if not so visible. That is why it became essential to maximise the momentum of this first event and organise a second this year.”

The C4E Forum is a joint initiative of representatives of the European Climate Foundation and the Chance for Buildings which Knauf Insulation has actively supported since the first proposals in 2015.

During the event, there will be workshops, high-level plenaries, DIY sessions and social and networking opportunities. Topic highlights include a focus on renovation programmes, the benefits of energy efficiency, the implementation of EU policies and financing building renovation.

Knauf Insulation is also organising a joint workshop with the European Climate Foundation entitled “How do you get what you want from policy?”. The interactive session is open anyone who wants to put energy efficiency at the heart of political debate.
