Our overall objectives include:

  • Ensuring the health and safety of our employees, contractors, visitors, neighbours, and other persons who may be affected by our activities.
  • Creation of a positive culture for health & safety, quality, energy, and environment throughout Knauf Insulation in order to reduce the number of accidents, incidents and other business losses, where human behavior is a contributory factor.
  • Contributing our expertise to and supporting the development of sound international and local policies, laws, and regulations.
  • The development and provision of products and systems which are safe and fit for their purpose.
  • Provision of appropriate resources in order to ensure that adequate information, training and supervision is provided to employees, contractors, and visitors to our locations, with regard to health, safety, environment, quality and energy issues.
  • Ensuring the effective management of risk during design, construction, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of business facilities.
  • Ensuring that management systems are integrated and meet recognised standards in the areas of quality, occupational health and safety, environment and energy and that use structured approaches to identify business improvements and achieve corporate goals as defined by Knauf Insulation senior management.   • Monitor and review our activities, targets, and progress with regard to safety, health, environment, quality and energy. Produce and communicate an annual report on these matters.
  • Using product Life Cycle Analysis to understand and focus on specific processes that help us to reduce our impact to environment. This Concept goes beyond the production processes as raw material and their logistic impacts, packaging design, efficient use of transport and the end of life of our product are taken into account.
  • Working with our contractors and suppliers in having them commit to their own Health and Safety policy and demonstration of safe practices.
  • Engaging with our suppliers to develop programs or products to reduce our impact on the environment including energy usage, transport, packaging, raw material usage, renewable and recycled materials and water usage. We have a target of zero waste to landfill.
  • Supporting the procurement of energy efficient products and services and the design for energy performance improvement, where appropriate.
  • Ensuring that our employees receive training, support and development opportunities to enable them to make a positive and sustainable contribution to the company. Treating all stakeholders fairly and with respect.
  • Sourcing is conducted lawfully and with integrity. Established policies and training addresses bribery, conflicts of interest, gifts and hospitality, competition and competitor information and financial records. Money laundering, safeguarding information and property, compliance with laws and reporting concerns and non-retaliation are all also addressed.
  • Setting the expectation towards our suppliers to act in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations with suitable controls and process in place to maintain compliance. We aim to improve our level of understanding of the maturity of our suppliers’ compliance management systems through internal and third party assessments.
  • Continued development of tools to monitor and manage supply chain risk in financial, environmental, safety and social impact categories.
