What do you think contributes to leadership success?

The main task of a leader is to inspire people’s curiosity. Only curiosity can make people go where they do not want to go or do what they are afraid of. Curiosity defeats fear, laziness and takes you out of your comfort zone.

What qualities do you admire in Knauf Insulation leaders?

The ability to challenge the status quo and — despite the fact that construction industry is largely conservative — introduce new approaches to business organisation and new sales models.

What advice would you share with a new colleague to help them thrive at Knauf Insulation?

Don’t be afraid to experiment, to take responsibility yourself and constantly search for new things.

What do you see as your greatest achievement at Knauf Insulation and why?

Signing contracts with the major DIY chains in Russia including Leroy Merlin, OBI and Castorama was one of my biggest achievements. Now the DIY segment accounts for a significant percentage of our sales in Russia.

Which leadership quote resonates with you and why?

Winston Churchill:
“I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears and sweat.”

Everyone around us enjoys a salary, comfortable working conditions, a vacation and social guarantees. These things are already commonplace for managers and sellers. But blood, toil, tears and sweat? That requires a strong-minded person who is ready to challenge themselves and others!
