ANFORDERUNGEN UND VERANTWORTLICHKEITEN
- As a member of the Central Marketing Team, the Product Manager is the interface between the central and local Technical / Manufacturing organizations on the one hand, and central Market Segment Management and local Marketing Management on the other;
- Product line management: Holds the key responsibility of SKU management, including creation and discontinuance, product line rationalization and product allocation across plants and markets;
- Project leadership: Manage Product Improvement initiatives and New Product Development projects from idea to implementation; responsible for delivering products on time, on cost and on spec;
Primary roles:
- Harmonize product specifications across plants and markets to increase flexibility in terms of allocation and capacity utilization, improve operational plant efficiency and reduce working capital;
- Establish a company-wide overview of the range of solutions per application / market segment and develop a product performance grid (good/better/best) in order to assess the Knauf Insulation product range, benchmark against competition and identify gaps in current product offering;
- Plan, manage and drive operational and technical implementation of key marketing initiatives;
- Manage multi-disciplinary project teams to drive New Product Development and Product Improvement initiatives to completion in line with program objectives;
- Lead and manage product certification requirements through Central Technical Team;
- Monitor product quality, initiate and lead corrective action where required;
- Update product literature as required to ensure accuracy and timeliness;
- Understand cost structure of each product and create a cost model for each product line to predict and manage impact of component cost changes on product line profitability;
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of how Knauf Insulation products are used in their intended applications, including technical challenges, performance gaps and identification of opportunities for performance improvement;
- Monitor key product line performance indicators (KPI) and drive operational action where required.

Secondary roles:
- Technically support new product launch initiatives on central and local level;
- Continuously interact with local marketing teams and local application specialists to stay abreast of new market developments, changes in construction methods, new materials, new standards and regulations, etc.
- Continuously interact with Central Technical Teams and PPD to stay informed about product technology developments, process improvements and new technologies.

Ideal candidate profile:
- Proven experience and expertise in the management of multidisciplinary projects and project teams in a complex, matrix based manufacturing organization is required;
- In-depth understanding of insulation products, specifically with regards to at least one of the following technologies: Glass Mineral Wool, Rock Mineral Wool. Knowledge of foams and wood wool is preferred, but not required;
- Several years of technical experience in insulation products at manufacturing and or product / technology development level;
- Familiar with manufacturing environment - speaks ‘manufacturing language', understands and knows how to manage and influence manufacturing KPI's.
- Experienced in liaising with marketing and sales teams, fluent in the translation of marketing requirements into technical specifications. A product marketing background is ideal, or alternatively an engineering background with intensive interaction with marketing and/or sales functions;
- Understands construction and the product requirements and broad regulations that it entails.

- Proven communication skills at all levels, as well as the ability to interface across complex organizations and functional disciplines;
- Used to managing plans and budgets;
- Above-average flexibility and adaptability;
- Performs under pressure;
- Ability to accept criticism, feedback and input from others;
- Selling skills, the ability to sell new concepts internally is a key requirement;
- Fluent in English, fluency in German and a good command of French is preferred.
